Peak Edge Toasts National Shortlist

Peak Edge Hotel is celebrating its VisitEngland Awards shortlist with complimentary fizz, a luxury stay giveaway, and recognition for exceptional hospitality, dining excellence, and outstanding guest experience.

Peak Edge Hotel is celebrating after being shortlisted in the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2026, with guests invited to join the festivities through a complimentary sparkling wine offer and luxury stay giveaway.

The family-owned four-star hotel, located on the edge of the Peak District, is representing the region in the national finals after securing Gold in the Hotel of the Year category at the Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards earlier this year.

Now shortlisted for Small Hotel of the Year at the national awards, Peak Edge has announced that guests dining or staying at the hotel ahead of the finals next month will receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Visitors will also have the opportunity to enter a celebratory prize draw to win an overnight stay and dinner experience.

To enter, guests simply need to predict where the hotel will place in the national VisitEngland Awards.

The recognition follows what has already been a landmark year for the hotel. Peak Edge recently achieved an AA Quality Score of 85% following its latest inspection — a figure exceeding the standard typically associated with four-star properties and placing the venue within five-star territory for quality and guest experience.

Mark Thurman, Managing Director at Peak Edge Hotel, said the team wanted to share the achievement with loyal guests and supporters.

“We wanted to celebrate this moment with the people who support us all year round — our guests,” he said.

“To be shortlisted nationally is an enormous achievement for an independent Derbyshire hotel and something our whole team is incredibly proud of.

“We’ve always tried to create a relaxed but special experience here at Peak Edge, so it felt right to mark the occasion by inviting guests to celebrate alongside us.”

The hotel has also reported continued growth across accommodation, dining, beverage sales and events over the past year.

Its 2 AA Rosette Red Lion Restaurant has developed a strong reputation for farm-to-fork dining, with much of its produce sourced directly from Walton Lodge Farm Estate, the nearby family farm owned by hotel proprietor Steve Perez.

The winners of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2026 will be announced at an awards ceremony at Aerospace Bristol on Wednesday 3 June.
